The set combines the Veritas miniature shooting plane with the miniature shooting board.
The plane is 5 5/16" long and weighs just over 5 oz, and the board is 8" long by 3 5/8" wide in 11/16" thick Baltic birch plywood.
The extruded aluminum track is sized for a precise fit with the plane's 0.71" wide running surface, so the plane glides smoothly and tracks straight.
It adds a measure of control to exacting work such as picture framing or kumiko, where you might otherwise trim stock to length with a knife. It also makes an exceptionally satisfying workshop pencil sharpener.
The 20° skewed blade bed, 12° bed angle and 25° blade bevel combine to give an effective cutting angle of 36°.
Yes, the fence is mounted at 90° to the track and can be used with angle blocks or shop-made jigs for trimming miters or other angled cuts.
The plane body is stainless steel with a walnut tote and an A2 blade, and the board is Baltic birch plywood with an extruded aluminum track.
