Pick PM-V11 for the best all-around blade – it stays sharp substantially longer than A2 while remaining reasonably easy to sharpen. Choose O1 only if quick, easy honing matters more than edge life. The toothed A2 blade is specialized for knots and difficult grain and leaves a textured surface, so it is not the best general-purpose choice.
Yes. Each blade is cut for the Veritas apron plane and needs no fitting.
The O1 blade measures 0.098". The A2 and PM-V11 blades are 1/8" each.
Its small square teeth handle difficult grain and knots. A scraper then smooths the textured surface it leaves behind.
Every version is 1 1/4" wide.
