Veritas Combination Plane

The combination plane handles grooves as narrow as 1/8" up to 1" wide rabbets. The two-part body design accommodates blades of different shapes and sizes to cover this range in a single tool.

Yes. The reversible fence can be positioned on either side of the plane, allowing you to configure it for left- or right-hand cuts. Note that the blade adjuster position prevents left-hand-only blades (1/8" to 3/8" and 4mm to 10mm) from being used; the reversible fence compensates by letting right-hand blades cut in both directions.

The plane accepts Veritas blades for grooving, rabbeting, beading, reeding, and fluting, as well as Record 405 and Stanley 45/55 blades. The 45° blade bed also takes right-hand blades designed for the Veritas small plow plane.

Yes, with the addition of a shop-made batten the plane can cut through-dadoes. Used with the fence and straight cutters it handles rabbets, tongues, and grooves directly.

Two pairs of rods are included – 5" and 8" long – allowing cuts up to 5" from the edge of the workpiece.

The Veritas Combination Plane is made from stress-relieved ductile iron with brass fittings and a torrefied maple tote.
