Veritas Small Shoulder Plane
Description
- Sole is 6-1/4" long, 1/2" wide and accurately machined and ground flat and square to sides
- Body is ductile cast iron
- Lever cap wraps around rear of body, shrouding blade adjustment mechanism so it does not obstruct grip
- Through-hole and textured recesses cast into side of body provide grip points for fingers
- Adjustable toe enables mouth restriction for very fine shavings with minimum tear-out
- Low 15° bed angle combined with 25° blade bevel results in 40° cutting angle
- Side set screws allow accurate positioning of blade; no lateral adjustment required when replacing blade after sharpening
- Lapped blade is 1/8" (0.125") thick, 1/2" wide and made of either A2 or O1 tool steel
- Weighs 1 lb 2 oz
