It's typically used to cut joints in drawer runners, dividers and stretchers, and is well balanced and maneuverable for work scaled smaller than a tenon saw would handle.
The 12 tpi rip saw has a 10° rake angle for efficient cuts parallel to the grain, while the 14 tpi crosscut saw has a 15° rake angle with alternating bevels that sever fibers cleanly across the grain.
The 11" long, 0.02" thick blade has a cut depth of about 2 3/8", enough for most drawer, divider and stretcher joinery without repositioning the saw.
