It gives you a way to consistently control cut depth when using a backsaw, so each cut stops at the same depth.
A high-friction magnetic strip holds the aluminum rail against either side of the blade, and two clamp knobs with rare-earth magnet bases register against the spine of the saw.
The stainless-steel rods give the rail a 2 3/8" range of adjustment.
Yes, the rail attaches to either side of the blade, so you can set it up for the way you work.
The aluminum rail is 9" long.
Tighten the brass knobs to lock the rail at the desired cut depth.
The saw depth stop is made in Canada.
