It handles rough work such as removing paint, dried glue squeeze-out or old finish, as well as fine work such as smoothing highly figured wood without tear-out, depending on how the blade is sharpened.

Both edges of the blade are ground at 45°, giving you two cutting edges before you need to resharpen, which halves how often you need to stop and sharpen.

The sole is longer and the handles are placed further back and slightly lower, letting you apply pressure directly in line with the cutting edge and preventing the blade from catching when it runs off the workpiece.

Two screws secure the blade, and an integral knob lets you set the blade camber to the curve you want.
