It's designed to attach to the Veritas Compact Router Base Plate, using a 1 3/16" threaded ring nut available separately.
Choose the guide sized to match your router bit: 1/4" O.D. for a 1/8" bit, 3/8" O.D. for a 1/4" bit, 1/2" O.D. for a 3/8" bit, or 5/8" O.D. for a 1/2" bit; matching the two keeps the offset correct for clean template following.
The guide's edge can bear against a template as thin as 3/16", so even a slim pattern will guide the router accurately.
Veritas template guides are made of solid brass, which resists wear from repeated contact with the template edge.
