Yes. Leather has a natural fine abrasive, so the strop can be used as is.
For the best honing results, charge one side of the leather with a thin layer of our Veritas green honing compound, a blend of chromium and aluminum oxide that balances cutting speed and fine finish.
The leather pads are 1 3/4" × 9".
Yes, the leather pads can be replaced as needed.
The body is CNC-routed 18mm thick Baltic birch plywood and has a contoured handle.
Once mounted, the leather is recessed into the body to reduce the accumulation of debris when the strop is set down.
