The glue's low viscosity allows it to seep into the loose joint by capillary action. It soaks into the end grain of the rung, causing the wood to swell. As the glue cures, it locks the wood in the swollen state, tightening the joint without disassembly or clamping.
No. Chair Doctor is specifically designed to treat loose joints in assembled furniture without disassembly. You apply the glue at the joint opening and let it seep in; disassembly is not required.
No. Chair Doctor is designed for repairing loose joints in assembled furniture. For regular cabinetmaking glue-ups on new work, a different adhesive, such as 2002 GF glue, is the better choice.
Any excess glue that reaches the surface can be wiped off with a damp cloth before it cures. Any small amounts missed will dry completely clear and will not leave a visible mark.
