Veritas Bench Kit Components

The kit includes the workbench plan, truss rods, nuts, bolts and screws for constructing the bench with a hardwood top. Wood is not included.

The truss rods run through the bench structure to provide exceptional rigidity. Because wood expands and contracts with seasonal humidity changes, joints can loosen over time – the truss rods allow you to retighten the bench by simply adjusting the rods rather than dismantling and re-gluing.

No. The trestle uses all butt joints – no mortise and tenon work is required. Despite its simple joinery, the truss-rod construction makes it more rigid than most other bench trestle designs.

The bench design is ideally suited to the Veritas Twin-Screw Vise, a full-width end vise with up to 12" clamping capacity that can clamp along the side and top of the bench with no racking. Any other commercial vise can also be used.

No. The kit provides the plan and all metal hardware; you source the hardwood for the bench top and trestle separately.
